The mountains are made of flysch rock, mostly sandstone, which create typical for Gorgany debris fields. Gorgany are the least populated part of the Ukrainian Carpathians; primary occupation of locals is herding and timber exploitation.This is a detailed, double-sided, contoured, GPS-compatible map covering the Northern Gorgany Mountains. It shows local hiking trails, annotated with tourist accommodation and other facilities.It is an authentic Ukrainian-made map and all names are shown in Cyrillic. Most villages and selected other features also have their names transliterated into Latin alphabet.
