Rox Antasha, the Duchess of the Land, finds that there are times when a ‎purse full of golden ducats actually doesn’t help her. Kidnapped by ‎Armandillo Mesmer, the brother of the Enchanter, and taken far from her ‎ducal manor, she realises that she has been condemned to death; to face ‎torture and torment within the caves of the terrible Desolate Crag. The ‎ways out are blocked by Armandillo’s men; she has no choice but to ‎investigate the crag looking for some secret way out. The crag is infested ‎with terrible creatures and lethal traps; but maybe the worst trap of them ‎all is to be found in the treasure chamber of the long dead Earl Mirkfog; ‎who bears little love for Rox’s illustrious ancestor. There is such a thing as ‎too much wealth; and she certainly discovers this for herself.‎
