When eight-year-old Billy Bartlett is unexpectedly sent home form school after the Munich crisis in 1938, he witnesses his glamorous mother commit the most heinous of crimes. Keeping it secret for forty years, Billy, now a soap actor, is summoned to his ailing mother"s bedise. He reluctantly travels to see her, re-living their impassioned past.
