Coming to prominence in 1980 with the hit album "Wheels Of Steel" SAXON quite literally took the rock world by storm firstly in Europe then the American market with their groundbreaking tours during 1984. Many successful years followed as they consolidated their position as the Rock Band of the 80"s. DIAMONDS AND NUGGETS features tracks from "78 to "82 with 9 tracks included from that period that were never previously released. Also included are 3 previously unreleased live tracks from the Rainbow, London during 1982. 6 more tracks are previously unreleased versions of known songs topped off with a bonus track "Walking" which was the first ever recording by GRAHAM OLIVER and STEVE DAWSON from 1971 which ironically was at SRT, Cambridge. This release is SAXON at their creative peak and features the classic line up of BYFORD, DAWSON, GILL, OLIVER and QUINN.
