FREEDOM was formed in the autumn of 1967 by 2 ex members of PROCUL HARUM - BOBBY HARRISON and RAY ROYER. Over the next 5 years despite numerous personnel changes Freedom released 5 albums of considerable merit. There last ever release was "Is More Than A Word" from 1972 and featured ROGER SAUNDERS, STEVE JOLLY, PETE DENNIS and Bobby Harrison. Harrison then folded Freedom and recorded his solo album "Funkist" which was then released only in USA and he then formed SNAFU with MICKY MOODY who had worked with him on "Funkist" following on from his membership of JUICY LUICY. Now remastered with informative sleeve notes by Claes Johansen Angel Air release the 5th and last ever album by Freedom. Freedom never quite made it to the 1st division of British Rock. Not because of lack oability, just sheer lack of good luck. What we have with all 5 releases is perhaps a case of "what might have been" than what actually was. Then again-who cares when the music is playing.
