Stylistically it’s hard to nail Davis down because he plays in a variety of blues styles. "He’s a Mississippi Delta bluesman by birthright, but he hung around in Chicago with guys like Reed, Waters and Hooker," Scribner says. "Plus, he loves soul and R&B and country music. That’s what we’ve tried to represent on the new CD - that Sammy can do it all."
