ATOMIC ROOSTER were so popular during 1980-81 at the Marquee Club, Wardour Street, London that they made an appearance virtually every month. The gig featured on this CD is drawn from the personal archives of the only living member of this great band, JOHN DU CANN and sees the welcome return of drummer PAUL HAMMOND, viewed by most AR fans as the best the band ever had. He had rejoined the band at very short notice, having to fill the vacancy left by ex Cream drummer GINGER BAKER, who had been dropped for "incompatability reasons". Paul took to the kit like he had never been away and once again the classic line up is restored and picking up just where they had left off back in 1971. Whether possessed by demons, or just plain hard working, ATOMIC ROOSTER was THE live act to see and they gave the fans everything they could. Du Cann has said that immediately after leaving stage they would feel like they were about to collapse and to do an encore would practically kill them. Play it loud.
