The novel is devoted one of the most complicated periods of history of Ancient Russia. At the very beginning of XIV century opposition between Tver and Moscow in struggle for a label on a great table of the Vladimir reigning and by that for leadership in collecting of Russian earths was defined. Magnanimous, by Karamzin"s word, prince Michael the Tver and ambitious prince the Moscow Jury are the central figures of this tragical story.
