Sergey Zhadan was born in 1974 in Lugansk province of Ukraine. He lives in Kharkiv. Published 16 books of poems and 8 novels, some books of publicistic writing, translations of Paul Celan, 4 albums (with rock-band "Dogs in space"). Aside many national awards he also received an international "Angelus" award for the best novel from Central Europe.
