Monitor Audio"s Bronze W10 powered subwoofer boasts all of the audiophile transparency of Bronze"s low-distortion design regimen concentrated in the bass domain. The W10 is deeply provisioned, authentically proportioned, and dynamically fleet of foot. The sophisticated W10 subwoofer is a Bronze original, featuring an exclusive trinity of upgraded amplifier technology, powerful DSP processing and new long-throw driver design. Advanced switch-mode power conversion techniques, custom DSP tuning and a massive power reservoir combine to generate enormous dynamic headroom from the Class D power-pack, allowing the driver to drop low and punch hard without distortion for a truly sensational deep bass experience. The Bronze W10 is equipped with an ultra long throw 10" driver featuring a concave "dished" C-CAM cone. The increased magnet motor size delivers higher output and improved control. A down-firing 10" ABR (Auxiliary Bass Radiator) augments low frequency extension and power handling and ensures that with the same compact footprint as its predecessor, the W10 delivers an incredible 6dB greater SPL at 40Hz. A powerful Class-D amplifier delivers over 200 watts with low distortion. The switch mode power supply, designed to deliver high continuous rating, provides an instantaneous delivery of high current when required. The proprietary bass drivers responsible for Bronze"s open, expressive and naturally rhythmic quality utilize a new type of "dished" C-CAM cone, which uses the entire cone surface to radiate sound. Unbroken by the center pole-piece aperture of conventional driver designs, the cone is inherently more rigid and efficient while being less prone to break-up under high drive conditions, resulting in exceptional detail resolution and life-like tonality. Ingeniously, the driver"s voice coil is thermally coupled to the back of the cone, which draws heat away from the coil for better power handling and optimal operation at all volume levels.
