Integrated prognostic model and prediction of risk for preeclampsia

Hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and preeclampsia in particular, may become life-threatening, leading to serious fetal and maternal outcomes. This book presents an evaluation of risk factors, biochemical and biophysical parameters by trimesters in various subgroups of women with hypertensive disorders in pregnancy. Combinations of all of them into an integrated predictive model of preeclampsia, presented by trimesters, aids in selection of high-risk women that will need more ante-natal check-ups. Ultimately, the integrated prognostic model enables calculation of individual risk and increases the detection rate of women that will develop preeclampsia up to 90% from the second trimester.
