The Game of Wheel: Sukoi Thwngmwng

This book is written to mainly highlight the importance of traditional game once being played by the Tripuris and now been abandoned gradually due to attraction to modern games and sports. However, some of the sports still played and preferred in rural Tripura apart from ‘Sukoi Thwnmwng’ are; (a) Chur thwngmwng; (b) Toko thwngmwng; (c) Hoijaklaiya thwngmwng (d) Mefuk Sagwnang; (e) Lwokchok thwnmwng; (f) Tokla tanlaimwng; (g) Fan Sohlaimwng etc. Furthermore, this book is written bilingually i.e., in Kokborok (a local language) and English, to make the readers not only comfortable in comprehending the game easily but also learning Kokborok. And it is further provided with pictorial presentation along with description of the steps. Most importantly, as a matter of fact that it is unknown until today, when and how the game has originated, and its physical impact. Therefore, a further research is encouraged on its physical impact, medicinal and religious application and tracing a close link to invention of wheel.
