If you find yourself replacing worn bicycle tires more frequently than your car"s tires, it"s safe to say you"ve seen your share of nasty riding weather. We"d also bet you"ve had a few close calls with motorists out there. Well, Endura was thinking of riders like you when it designed its new Luminite II Jacket. The visibility and coverage provided by the new Luminite exceed the original version, keeping you seen and protected while sharing the road on your trusty human-powered vehicle. Waterproof fabric and fully taped seams were used to construct the Luminite II. The compact, 2.5-layer material was used for its ability to keep wind and water out, and the taped seams provide added protection. And while most jackets that use the multi-layer, seam taping approach as a means to keep the elements at bay, they usually do so by limiting themselves in the breathability department. Not so with the Luminite II. The lightweight flexible fabric does an excellent job of pulling moisture to the outer layer, keeping you dry and comfortable on the inside. And speaking of keeping the elements out, the Luminite II was built with a bonded and laser-cut double storm flap on the center zipper, assuring that your clothes underneath remain clean, dry, and presentable for the day. The fit of the Luminite II is fairly close to the body, but not overly tight. Endura designed the jacket to fit over everyday clothing, cutting the panels more generous than traditional, road-specific outerwear. In addition to doing its research on what fit and fabrics works best for commuters, Endura also spent a good deal of time developing a visibility system to go along with the overall design. The Luminite II was built with reflective safety chevrons throughout, providing 360 degrees of visibility. Besides that, Endura beefed up its original integrated, rear-pocket LED light unit. This updated unit now emits eight times more lumens than the original version.
