This is the first volume of the Proceedings of the School of Liberal Arts and Science at the St.-Petersburg State University. The topic of this issue is relations between economics and culture, or correlation between economic organization and the political, cultural and social environment. The authors study this topic at the intersection of several disciplines: economics, philosophy, sociology, and humanities. Some of the articles are in English.
