This is a reprint of the biography first published in 1813-1814. The Russian hereditary nobleman Mikhail Illarionovich Golenishchev-Kutuzov (1745-1813) a general field marshal, who was a pupil of Suvorov, distinguished himself in seizure of the city of Izmail. He was the chief commander in the Russian-French war of 1812 and crushed Napoleon"s army. The author collected the biographical data when Kutuzov was still alive and had the opportunity of watching the Field marshal in action.
