Bioorganic Evaluation of Some New Chalcone and Curcumin Derivatives

This book deals with synthesis and biological evaluation of some new heterocyclic compounds derived from Chalcone and Curcumin derivatives. Diphenylcyclohexenone and curcumin compounds share similar functions. Both of them have α,β-unsaturated carbonyl structures (enone). Diphenylcyclohexenone and Curcumin were reacted with different reagents to form some new heterocyclic compounds such as Pyrazole, pyrane, pyrimidine and pyridine derivatives. These compounds have been characterized based on IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and Mass spectra. Biological activity evaluation was performed on most of synthesized compounds; The anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects for diphenylcyclohexenone and curcumin derivatives were evaluated.
