This fundamental work by a well known historian of Russian literature aimed to review the history of writing the novel Quiet Don, to analyze the arguments of both sides of the long running discussion about the authorship of this Nobel prize winning novel and to close this issue. The monogram analyzes: the original manuscript of the novel, lost and recently found; prototypes and toponymics of the novel; the history of writing the novel; all alternative pretenders to the authorship suggested by opponents in this argument.
