This book consists of the two works. One of them, The History of the Housing Issue, is about the housing sector in Russia from the end of 17th century to the present. It covers the main issues of this area: distribution of the government housing, exchange, apartment building, communal apartments, private housing, registration (propiska), renting, cooperatives and condominiums, etc. The author describes the numerous soviet experiments and their housing policy. The second book, Notes of a Realty Agent, is based on personal experience of the author as a realty agent in Russia. The combination of academic study with the memoirs makes this book very special.
