To mark the 300th birthday of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, a concert was given in Berlins Konzerthaus at which his Passion Cantata Die letzten Leiden des Erlösers was performed. The top-flight musicians and singers under the outstanding direction of conductor Hartmut Haenchen made this an emotive event, and the full poignancy of The Last Sufferings of the Saviour is beautifully captured in this live performance.
