The Barbour Collection is one of the last great genealogical manuscript collections to be published. Housed at the Connecticut State Library in Hartford, The Barbour Collection covers 137 towns and comprises 14,333 typed pages. This magnificent collection of birth, marriage, and death records to about 1850 was the life work of General Lucius Barnes Barbour, Connecticut Examiner of Public Records from 1911 to 1934. Our reprint edition of The Barbour Collection has been transcribed by a number of compilers, under the General Editorship of Lorraine Cook White, who has herself transcribed no fewer than sixteen volumes in the series. Volume 41 is devoted to Sterling and Stratford, Connecticut, and it brings together vital references to more than 24,500 individuals, some of them from the 17th century.
