Pregnancy is a period of expectant waiting and one that all women aspire to experience at least once in their lifetime. Health-seeking behavior is a state in which a client is actively seeking ways to alter personal health and habits and their environment to move toward optimal health. Nurses should explore psychosocial factors underlying health behaviors, the impact of lifestyle on health status, and strategies to develop personal responsibility for health. Understanding human behavior is prerequisite to change behavior and improve health practices. The study determined the prenatal health-seeking behaviors of pregnant women in the selected barangays of Legazpi City, Philippines. This was done to assist health practitioners especially the nurses, midwives and doctors in understanding the behaviors of pregnant women in search of a healthy lifestyle. The research came up with recommendations to improve the health-seeking behaviors of the pregnant women. This book will also be helpful to pregnant women and other members of the women population who need to know more about pregnancy and the attendant health practices needed to be observed.
