This monograph studies the decorative sculptures of architectural buildings of Saint Petersburg (18th - early 20th centuries), particularly of the god of trade Mercury (Hermes). This Greek god was also the god of teaching, peacemaker, a patron of arts, love, traveling, etc. The study raises the issue of Hermesism in Russian art for the first time.
