Lucknow Architecture: A fusion of Indo- Islamic and European Culture: Uniqueness and Grandeur of Nawabi Architecture

Architecture reflects the social, economic, and cultural aspects of the state. Whereas Lucknow Architecture not only represent the rich Shia style but also is a wonderful example of the fusion of Indo-Islamic and European style. Their are several important things which are unknown to the people about the city, for example the word "AADAB (respect in all forms)" has been provided a world heritage status by UNESCO. In the same way Lucknow Architecture consist of some very unique features in its style, that differentiates it from the other state architecture. Their is a perfect blending of different style in it. When Asaf-ud-daula shifted the capital of Awadh from Faizabad to Lucknow in late eighteenth century, then that was the time when Lucknow gained the status of Capital and it was a start of a glorious period for the Architecture of the city.
