José de Anchieta, the famous 16th century missionary to Brazil wrote on many subjects. This collection brings together much of his best loved poetry in the original Portuguese including Carta da Companhia de Jesus, Poema da Virgem, Em Deus, meu criador, Ao Santíssimo Sacramento and A Santa Inês, along with prose works Auto Representado na Festa de São Lourenço and Feitos de Mem de sá.
