The circuitry operates on a pair of standard AAA batteries. If desired, you can turn off the cancellation technology to use the headphones in passive mode. You can also detach the single-sided headphone cable to block out ambient noise without listening to music. The single-sided cable keeps tangles to a minimum and features an inline volume control for making quick adjustments. It has a standard 3.5mm mini plug with a 1/4" adapter for connecting to a variety of consumer and professional audio devices.
