Conrad Marca-Relli
Since mid-century, Conrad Marca-Relli has continued to explore his monumental collages in which an image, particularly the human figure, is locked. This volume, printed in Venice, sumptuously reproduces works from throughout his career.One of the most important representatives of the American Abstract Expressionist group, Marca-Relli was born in Boston in 1913 of Italian parents. He held his first solo exhibition in New York in 1947 and founded, together with Rothko, Franz Kline, de Kooning, and others, the Eighth Street Club. His career has included numerous awards, teaching appointments, and exhibitions in the U.S. and Europe, including a 1967 Whitney Museum of American Art retrospective exhibition.
