Harmony Records was founded in 1925 as a subsidiary of Columbia Records and was revived in 1957. This new Harmony label was used solely to release 33rpm long-playing records and like many other budget labels, it was cheap and cheerful". Harmony however, had the advantage of the entire Columbia back catalogue to draw upon for their compilations.
