After a two-year break,The Gufs" final Red Submarine Records release hit Milwaukee in 1995.Easily The Gufs" best record to date, it starts off with a bang,"Smile", followed by "Lost Along the Way". "Belong" is a ballad abouttwo lovers; "Waiting" is another song of that type. "Crash (IntoMe)", the fourth track on the album, is the song that really brokeThe Gufs into the Milwaukee radio scene when WLUM (102.1) began toplay it. Perhaps the two best songs on the album, however, are twothat received little recognition. These are tracks seven and ten,"Someday Daughter" and "Emily". "Fear Me Now" rounds out the album ona somewhat dark note. Because of how quickly Atlanticsnatched up The Gufs after this album was released, and because theyplanned to basically re-release the album with a few modificationsand song changes, Collide was actually only available forpurchase for a few months before it was pulled off shelves when theAR contract was signed.
