On Christmas Eve Ellen and Robert are preparing for the next day. They hang up their stockings and go to bed, but can"t sleep. Robert wants to see Father Christmas but Ellen drags him to bed leaving the stuffed rabbit, Alpaca, downstairs. When Father Christmas arrives Alpaca is alone.
