This work comprises an explanation of the Sheffield Initiative, aimed at the rest of the education community, covering its origins, principles and practice. It focuses on the Sheffield Curriculum Initiative as an example of an LEA-led initiative aimed at changing the experience of learning in schools through a planned programme of professional and personal development with teachers.
