The earliest known country-by-country compilation of official data on every country on the continent of Africa. Includes short historical and political profiles, as well as economic, geographic, education, health and social services, transportation, communications, climate and demographic data. Although published in 1963, the the former and then current colonial ruling states (United Kingdom, Belgium, France, and Portugal, and South Africa as the United Nations Trustee for South West Africa) were the main sources of information. Wherever possible, the information was collected from official documents of the independent governments described.
