Geoff Westen raises the Rock Ambient bar with ACTIVATE from his Digital Activity Series. ACTIVATE is the third Digital Activity CD and is a further exploration into a musical genus that Westen calls Rock Ambient Music. The extended musical soundscapes on ACTIVATE begin with a central theme, before moving into unusual territory, blazing unexplored trails and returning home again. Tracks vary in genre from Chill to Rock, but all utilize Westen"s deft hand at production. His freshman take on Digital Activity was BIRTH, released in 2003. Westen has tried to create a new division of modern contemporary electronic music by merging rock and ambient, and it works.
