This history recalls the creation by RTÉ of today"s National Symphony Orchestra and its sister, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra; the relations of RTÉ with government, politicians, the Dublin Grand Opera Society and the Wexford Festival; the formation of its Singers, Chamber Choir and String Quartet, and the commissioning of work by classical and traditional composers.
