This album was recorded a few weeks shy of Tubby"s epic piece of big band writing 100% Proof but whereas those sessions looked predominantly back to the bebop era which had initially inspired Tubby, his live gigs were already headed in the direction of the freedoms of Mexican Green, as this newly discovered set illustrates.
