Case studies examining the process of school improvement are set out in this volume. Conducted by practising teachers and researchers, the studies, carried out over a four year period, show why only certain schools in a cohort succeed in sustaining a course of school improvement. Overall, the message is of the intention of the teachers and principals to make their schools better places in which students can learn.
