Ta-Ta is a product of his environment, the firstborn of his young abusive mother, and practically living at her mercy. Trying to break free of her violent grips and come into his self is no easy task, when trapped in the triple stages of her darkness. But when tragedy strikes in the Bronx flat, and the pressures of BCW threatens her position, Sabrina, Ta-Ta"s mother, crumbles, letting her drug addition nearly take her life. Immediately, he and his two younger siblings are removed from the unfit home, and split up. Now Ta-Ta must struggle with his own ups and downs, valleys and peaks, all brought on by his newfound freedom, and sudden infatuation with the streets. By the time he"s thirteen, he"s exposed to everything from sex and drugs, to violence, all of which simultaneously becomes daily indulgents. Naïve enough to believe he can survive on his own, he runs away from every home afforded him, until he"s literally homeless. With nowhere to turn, he finds himself back in the folds of the only person who understands him. And it is then and there that he realizes what Sabrina was preparing him for.
