An attorney on an ocean voyage meets, falls in love and proposes marriage. After she discover that he is the guardian of the daughter she abandoned years before she agrees but does not reveal her secret. She finds her grown daughter ihas been flirting with the attorney"s best friend who is a womanier and has had an affair with the newly engaged woman. He reveals the affair to the attorney who orders him out of his house. The woman goes to the friend"s apartment to retrieve a letter she had sent him but her daughter also knows about the letter and has gone there where she is attacked by the man.
