How do you make a great album greater? Well, some people (including this writer) might suggest that albums are often a disappointment in comparison to the demos. Some people have suggested that this version is indeed "greater" than the "full-finished." Half the fun of this version is the insight into the development and progression of the arrangements, tempo changes, instrument changes and phrasing. The sweet melancholy of Yoko is slightly more hopeful on "Demo." The highlight of this aspect being on the instrumental version "Hovering," whose vocals are "sung" by trumpets and guitars. Many tracks here make one forget about all the Beatles and Beach Boys comparisons, and might trick the listener into thinking they"ve unearthed a Big Star/Alex Chilton out-takes reel.
