Homekids is an historical fiction adventure based on an orphanage that existed between 1896 and 1944 in Tiffin, Ohio. The story takes place in two Ohio towns during the difficult Depression., Mattie is the fourteen-year-old protagonist that is forced to go to an orphanage when her father dies and her mother can"t afford to keep her. However, Mattie is determined to help the family by finding her estranged grandmother.
