Thirteen year old Madeleine Conway lives a care free life with her parents and older brother, Alex, in a small market town in the South West of England. Maddy"s happy existence is soon shattered when she discovers that Alex is being bullied at Northfield School where they are both pupils. Tragedy then strikes changing Maddy"s life forever. Circumstances force Maddy to live with her paternal Grandmother and it is not long before she goes off the rails and then finds herself pregnant. Life is hard but she finds love as she grows up only for happiness to turn sour and her marriage to break down. Maddy finds herself alone again and the past events begin to haunt her. She blames the school bullies for everything that has happened and she plans her revenge on Alex"s tormentors. Maddy will be visited by fate once more which has one last cruel blow in store.
