Author Bio: Much of this story reflects experiences of the author, Yvonne Lillehaug-Collins, on the North Dakota and Colorado prairies in the 1930s, weaving together what actually happened and what might have happened. Yvonne now lives on the northern California coast in McKinleyville, a small fishing, timber and farming community near the Yurok tribal Rancheria.
