West African master drummer, author, teacher and producer, Mamady Keita, travels the world carrying out his mission to preserve and expose the tradition and the music of the djembe. He is based in San Diego from where he runs his world renowned school of percussion. Mamdy has been the subject of several documentaries including an award-winning documentary titled "Djemefola (the Man Who Makes the Djembe Speak)" , a film that propelled the culture of the djembe around the world.
