This book is a reconstruction of the image of Mongol-Tatar yoke and of the Mongol-Tatar hordes based on Old Russian literature in the 13th-15th centuries. The author studies the evolution of views on the Yoke and analyzes the images of the conquerors. The sources of this study are multifold: chronicles, the Bible, literature by the Church fathers, lives of Russian saints (zhitiia), etc. Bibliography.
