African Nights; Georgina"s Story

She stood on the balcony of the Sundowners Wildside Safari Lodge and watched as the sun sank below the horizon in a dazzling display of gold, red and magenta. A lion roared way out on the plains, heralding the African night; a majestic giraffe could be seen in silhouette elegantly moving into the trees as a flock of birds spiralled up into the crimson sky. A warm, sweet aroma permeated the evening air that was humid, thick and fragrant. Her rich red-brown hair blew across her face and she swept it back, sniffing at the approaching night, all her senses aroused and tingling. These were the smells of Africa that Georgina couldn"t have even imagined back in London"s cold November air not much more than two years before, when an entirely different life seemed to be looming. So short a time, yet so much had happened since then. Georgina"s whole life had been transformed in a way she couldn"t possibly have dreamed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Below is a review from the writer Eliza Jane Goes.
