Energy politics
ENERGY POLITICS examines the policy issues and politics involved in the production of energy resources. Organized around the different sources of energy - coal, oil, natural gas, electricity, nuclear energy, and newer alternative energy sources - the text shows how each form of energy involves distinct policy and management issues, and describes the specific governmental agencies concerned with their production and use. In addition, it focuses on the choices the U.S. must make in providing energy for industrial and private use as the country moves into the twenty-first century. Topics covered in this edition include energy as an issue of national security, the decline of OPEC, the Persian Gulf War, and changes in the international supply and distribution of energy.
