Bouncing around his Knoxville, Tennessee home from group to group, he finally hit the national charts in 1967 with the classic She Shot A Hole In My Soul which has guaranteed him a lifelong career appealing to England"s Northern Soul fans as well as becoming The King of Beach Music in the Carolinas with his shag-related repertoire.
