In early 1999 I started spending a lot of time at my new computer. I was mesmerized by what I was learning and often failed to notice tension and discomfort in my body. I blocked those feelings by unconsciously directing my attention to what I was thinking instead of what I was feeling. I soon realized that others might be having similar experiences, so I developed yoga techniques to help people who sit for long periods of time.
