There are approximately 30 million IDPs in the world - most living in very poor conditions without physical security or legal protection. This survey provides facts, figures and trends relating to IDPs, along with analysis and discussion of relevant concerns such as the rights of IDPs and the responsibilities of outside agencies towards them. It provides a basic resource to promote protection and assistance, and advance solutions to this rapidly growing problem.
