MAD ANTHONY (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been detonating their brand of loud, Garage, Post-Punk since 2007. Speed Metal tells the story of a band growing up on the road sleeping in parking lots and brushing their teeth in bowling alleys across the Midwest. The songs are tinged with angst, regret, self-abasement and a personal reflection on complex moral and spiritual issues. Some have compared Mad Anthony s music to the likes of The Misfits and The Stooges with a hint of 1990 s Indie/Alternative Rock. During the winter of 2010, with their new record nearly finished, Mad Anthony was sidelined by the tragic loss of drummer Tony Bryant. Mad Anthony and Speed Metal were put on the shelf as the band and many members of their local music community mourned the loss of a good friend. But the band soon re-emerged Summer 2010 with a dedication to finish their record and honor Tony.
