This is the second collection of 12 stories featuring Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, published in The Strand magazine in 1892-93. It includes the adventures of the Silver Blaze, Cardboard Box, Yellow Face, Stockbroker s Clerk, the Gloria Scott, Musgrave Ritual, Reigate Squire, Crooked Man, Resident Patient, Greek Interpreter and Naval Treaty, as well as what Doyle hoped would be his last Sherlock Holmes story, the Final Problem, where Holmes apparently dies in a struggle with the evil Dr. Moriarty.
